Artist: Allan Edwall

Biography

Allan Edwall (1924-1997), Swedish actor, director and song-writer from Jämtland. Edwall was an anarchist who wrote songs in a plump, folkly maner, with an obvious tone of leftwing-politics. His singing is a still half-talk, half melody thing, which breaks in the more "grandious" parts. His fatherly voice is accompanied by melancholic, classic, swedish folkmusic. n n His first studio album was "Grovdoppa", which was released in 1979. He then released 3 more albums "Färdknäpp" (1981), "Gnällspik" (1982) and "Vetahuteri" (1984). Later, two albums were released in 2005 by the label National.n n The album-titles are difficult to translate to english since they are swedish slang words.n n Edwall is also very well known for his participation in the movies based on Swedish author Astrid Lindgren's books.
